About

The short version, and the long one

I started this whole thing at 14, from my bedroom, under a name I thought sounded impressive: PixelCutLabs. I built websites and ran SEO for anyone who would give a teenager a shot. Plenty of people didn’t. Enough did.

For years it was a general agency. We took the work that came. That’s a fine way to pay the bills and a bad way to get great at anything, and by 2020 it was obvious we were spread thin across industries we didn’t really understand. The travel clients were the exception. Those were the ones where I could look at a booking curve and know what was about to happen, where I’d actually stayed in the hotel, flown the route, taken the tour.

So in 2021 we cut everything else and rebranded to Propellic. That was the real founding, if I’m honest about it. Twenty-five people now, all pointed at travel and tourism.

What we do sounds like SEO and paid media, and mechanically it is. But the job changed. Travelers used to find you by typing keywords into a box and picking from ten blue links. Now a growing share of them ask an assistant, get one answer, and never see a results page. Ranking is not the same thing as being the answer. Most of what our industry calls best practice was built for the old motion, and a lot of it is quietly stopping working.

That’s the problem I spend my time on: how travel brands earn visibility inside AI-driven discovery, and how you tie any of it back to bookings and revenue instead of a dashboard full of impressions. I’m co-authoring research with Phocuswright on how ready the industry actually is. My honest read is: less ready than it thinks.

I live in Austin. I fly, I travel more than is strictly reasonable, and I have opinions about hotels that nobody asked for.
